What’s Your Style? – Modern

There’s something satisfying about seeing kitchen elements and drawers well-organized and arranged, but sometimes it’s hard to know where to start - especially if you’re doing ‘well’ in your kitchen. Life itself is complicated so why not simplify it and get our kitchens in order.

Not only will your kitchen shine on the outside and inside, but you will shorten the hassle of cooking because of the search for just that cooker that you can never find. To help you, we at Custom built-ins Brampton have put together a short guide on how to best organize kitchen elements and drawers. Preparation is half the battle!

Here are the basic steps on how to organize kitchen elements and drawers:

Empty all cabinets and drawers, including the pantry if you have one

Sort the contents of the cupboards and drawers according to which you will keep, which you will throw in the trash, which you will give to your mother or sister, and which you will recycle. Thoroughly clean the inside and outside of all cabinets and drawers. Group everything into categories. Plan where and how you will store all items according to location and amount of usage.

Add baskets, shelves, compartments that you wanted to add before, but never found the time. Put everything back in the cupboards and drawers in order of priority. Enjoy a perfectly clean and organized kitchen!

Shelves as kitchen elements

So, the advice is to say goodbye to those you never use because otherwise you wouldn’t be in that category. If you like them and bought them on sale and they are still unused and you don't want to throw them in the trash, give them to someone who might need them - someone from family, friends or a relative for a birthday

Clean kitchen elements and drawers

Now that you have emptied all the cabinets and drawers, it is time to thoroughly clean them before refilling them. Carefully wash all surfaces with soap and water and allow to dry completely before filling.

Group into categories

Imagine your kitchen through zones: washing, preparing, cooking. Gather all your items and tools you use and group them by the categories that suit you best.

Storage location

Once you’ve grouped everything into categories, think about where they best fit and place them close to where you use them.

In the pantry, place the food and items you use most often in the most accessible place, at eye level.

EXCEPTION
: If you love snacks or sweets and are aware that you eat them too often, put them on as high a shelf as possible so that you do not see them as soon as you enter and thus reduce the possibility of overeating!

Arrangement of fruits and vegetables

If you really want everything to be perfectly organized, you can put stickers on the shelves that say a category. In this way, you will help yourself a lot in the future when it is the turn of the general.

Add new organizers for kitchen elements if desired

Once you’ve determined where you’re going to store what, look for places where you can use more space than you’re using right now.
